Abstract EN

The present study aims at comparing between the morphological and the syllabic balances, by applying them on the structure of a sample of irregular derivatives, in order to uncover similarities and differences between ancient morphological studies which consider etymology a basis to explain words morphology, and modern morphological studies which take phonetics a basis instead.

This study helps identify the best method for teaching Arabic morphology claimed to be difficult by many.
