Abstract EN

The purpose of this study is to describe the characteristics of literary excitement in contemporary Arab criticism as well as describing its various forms since excitement is an important feature in literature.

Literature affects the recipient because it has an influential power through excitement, which contains all the feelings that can exist in a human being.

These feelings can be easily stirred up by literature.

The forms of literary excitement have varied in our contemporary Arab criticism, and many critics have emerged like Taha Hussein, who presents for us a general concept of literary excitement that we can rely on it to determine the forms of literary excitement, and others like; Mohamed Madour, Tawfik Al Hakeem, Abbas Mahmoud Al Akad and Ahmed Ameen.
