Under the probation period regime, the agent enjoys a set of rights, and is bound to a body of duties, as provided for in the executive decree17-322.

The sanctioning of agents under probation period in the institutions and public administrations plays an important role in consecrating the principle of discipline in order for the administration to perform its activities in achieving public interest, and it is as well, a means to punish the agent under probation period, as a result of his wrongdoings amounting to disciplinary errors threatening the good functioning of public services.
