Abstract EN

Border disputes are one of the main types of international disagreements.

They are linked to the territory over which the State exercises its sovereignty.

Therefore providing peaceful means to resolve them is of a great importance.

African countries have tried to resolve the border problems through peaceful, diplomatic and legal means.

In this context, Algeria is among the leading countries that resort to diplomacy in order to ease tensions between African countries.

It also calls to maintain peaceful coexistence and refrain from the use of force according to the Charter of the United Nations and the international law, in particular the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations For 1961.
