Archaeological sources play an important role in building or reconstructing the ancient history of the Maghreb.

and also enhances our knowledge of our past and provides important material that couldn’t have been obtained easily.

and these sources are varied and numerous in terms of make, style, importance, or historical period to which they belong, so that all of these sources wastes can't be counted in terms of their types and importance.

some of them are visible and others are still underground, and our only way to reach it is through archaeological excavations.

the archaeological sources are basically the material evidence that gives important and detailed information pertaining to a particular period, like historical buildings, coins, pottery, seals, monuments, writings and paintings on stones or walls, tools, jewellery, bones, pieces of metals, and inscriptions especially Latin inscriptions, which constitute a reliable source for documenting the writing of the history of ancient Maghreb, and emphasize aspects of daily private and public life in roman era, these Latin inscriptions were collected and published in authoritative works of all known inscriptions at the time, and the Algeria has a lot of them.
