Since 1996, the Law of the Sea has known a multiplication of the international jurisdictions; It saw being born an International tribunal for the Law of the sea, and the Arbitral Tribunals, without as much eliminating the traditional international jurisdictions such as the International Court of Justice and the Permanent Court of Arbitration.
The multiplication of the international jurisdictions in the Law of the sea is due to varied reasons, such as the will of the States and the nature of disputes related to the Law of the sea.
If this multiplication offers an immense choice of means of resolution, it poses a problem of conflict of competence, problem whose Law of the sea, and the international Law must cope.

Depuis 1996 le Droit international de la mer a connu une multiplication des juridictions internationales, il a vu naître un Tribunal international du Droit de la mer et des Tribunaux d'arbitrage, sans autant éliminer les juridictions internationales.
