Abstract EN

The process of writing, especially historical writing, is a civilized product and a product of its age and historical contexts.

In this framework of knowledge, we will try to study the process of historical writing by an important social actor in Tunisian countries in the first third of the twentieth century, namely Abdelaziz Al-Thaalbi, by reading in his book "Articles in Ancient History".

In this context, we find ourselves studying an important and active figure in the contemporary history of Tunisia, especially during the colonial period, and at the same time practicing writing history.

Through our study of “Essays in the Ancient History” book by Abdel Aziz Al-Thaalabi, it became clear to us that the present and the reality of the author left clear imprints in the folds of the book.

Al-Thaalabi sought to locate the Tunisian countries during the ancient period in their Arab surroundings, completely reflecting all colonial policies, whether French or Italian, for French or "Romanization" of Tunisian history.

And Thaalbi through the book stands out in the dress of the educated and historian fighter, just as he spent his life in the dress of the political fighter.
