Abstract EN

The study at hand examines the landmarks of Jerusalem in the 18th Century.

To this end, a historical descriptive approach is adopted for the sake of tracing, collecting, and analyzing information included in the Journey (Truth and Metaphor in the Journey to the Levant, Egypt, and Hijaz) of Sheikh Abd Al-Ghanī.

Al- Nābulusī, who died in the year (1143 AH/1731 AD).

In particular, the study provides a historical account of Al-Nābulusī observations on Jerusalem's shrines, mosques, and schools.

In addition, the study came to highlight the biographies of all scholars and righteous people he met at the time.

The study concludes that Jerusalem City was a beacon of science and knowledge during that time in that it introduced itself as a meeting-place for travelers, writers, scholars, and mystics throughout the 18th Century.

Moreover, the study emphasizes the historical value of Al-Nabulsi's Journey; which reflects the influence of the sofi ideology on the scientific and religious aspects of life in Jerusalem and the numerous privileges that its scholars attained at the time.
