The purpose of this study is to highlight the importance of transformational leadership in Algerian public institutions, and to clarify the concept of transformational leadership in public institutions.

We used the descriptive-analytical approach in both theoretical and practical aspects.

A questionnaire was developed to measure transformational leadership, which consists of four dimensions: The questionnaire was distributed to a random sample of the workers of the Directorate of Soil in Laghouat.

We obtained 41 valid questionnaires for the study.

The study hypotheses, the results were as follows: - The Directorate of Education in Laghouat applies transformational leadership at the level of α = 0.

05- There were no statistically significant differences in the dimensions of transformational leadership due to variable years of service at the level of α = 0.

05- There were no statistically significant differences in the dimensions of the transformational leadership due to the variable of the educational level, at the level of α = 0.

- There are significant differences of transformational leadership due to the gender variable at the level of α = 0.

- There are significant differences of the transformational leadership due to the age variable at the level of significance of α = 0.
