Abstract EN

The aim of this study is to know the reality of the coaches' use of some methods and criteria in the selection process.

for this reason, the descriptive approach was used counting on an intended sample represented by 08 coaches for volleyball teams, and it was concluded by the fact that most of the coaches do not follow the scientific method, which is the tests and measures in the process of sports selection, and they follow the classic methods such as observation and personal experience, which are not consistent with the scientific development.

this indicates that the level of some coaches is limited towards scientific knowledge of the scientific basics of sportive selection in addition to the lack of capabilities and necessary means for the process of good selection.
