Abstract EN

This study aims to shed light on the content of the Basel III Committee's decisions, with a diagnosis of their compliance within the Algerian banking system, as well as to present a practical perception to establish the decisions of the Basel III Committee in the Algerian banking system to enforce banking supervision.

In order to achieve these goals, based on the diagnosis of the contents of the Basel III Committee's decisions and the extent of their compliance within the Algerian banking system, the requirements for their implementation in Algeria are deduced.

This study concluded that the amendments included in the Basel III committee's accord represent an authentic response to the reality of the international banking arena that was shaken by the mortgage crisis, based on five basic axes.

This study also found that, although the Algerian banking system did not keep pace with international developments, it relatively contributed to preparing the banking environment for adaptation to the Basel III decisions through its approval of a number of regulations at the legislative level, and that it is necessary to implement the Basel III decisions to enforce banking supervision
