JEL: M The purpose of the study is determining the effect of emotional intelligence on the leadership effectiveness.

by examining the effect of five dimensions of emotional intelligence (intrapersonel intelligence, social intelligence, adaptability, stress management, mood) on the leadership effectiveness, besides that using descriptive approach and hypothesis testing to achieve study objectives.

In addition to measure the variables of the study was based on the model of Bar-On and Parker (2000) is used to measure the emotional intelligence variable, and the model of ThomasW.

Kent(2001) is used to measure the leadership effectiveness variable.

after collecting the necessary data we studied the relationship between variables by analyzing them statistically according to linear correlation test and multi régressions test.

The results found that the emotional intelligence has a direct positive effect on the leadership effectiveness for the economic sector as well as for public management.
