Abstract EN

The research looks to the matter of the oldest forms of travel and tourism within the Christian and Islamic religions in terms of knowing the motives of movement among different places since the date of the beginning of these two religions.

The research also focuses on viewing the attitudes of the representatives and followers of Christianity and Islam on the issue of tourism in terms of specifying the legislative view to the matter of tourism throughout the answers to a questionnaire, which also aims to find out the differences between the two religions in terms of the legislative view to the matter of travel and tourism.

The study concludes that the oldest forms of travel in the two religions were associated with the most important religious motives summarized in worshipping God, missionary trips and another economic and scientific reasons, the research also concludes throughout the most of the answers to the questionnaire that there is no prohibition to the tourism phenomenon and that there is a convergence and similarity between religion and tourism and the benefits generated from this phenomenon for individuals and society.
