يعد الغرب الإسلامي منذ الفتوحات الإسلامية و دخول عدد من الصحابة ثم التابعين و من بعدهم محضنا علميا يكون و يخرج أعلاما كبارا انتشر صيتهم في الآفاق و خلدت تراجمهم الفهارس و المعاجم و المدونات وقد عرف المغرب الأوسط (الجزائر) عددا من المراكز العلمية التي التقى فيها كثير من العلماء.
و كان ممن عرف بالطلب و سمع و تلقى و أدى و ألف من أبناء الجزائر في القرن الرابع الفقيه مقرئ عالم بالتفسير و علوم القرآن أبو العباس المقرئ الباغائي الأوراسي الذي سنعرف به في هذا البحث و نكشف النقاب عن بعض جهوده التي وصلت إلينا إما من خلال ما ذكره أصحاب التراجم أو ما وصلنا من مخطوطات منسوبة إليه
