The current research highlights fetal sex selection issue that is delicate and emerging in the reproductive medical services; yet, it is a long-standing issue since human civilizations.

Fetal sex selection's legitimacy has been a controversial issue among scientists.

This controversy may be due to the different reasons that lead couples to adopt fetal sex selection; in addition to the different means used in its achievement, which are either natural or laboratory means.

However, from a legal perspective; the Health Act No.

18-11 clearly prohibits sex selection.

Moreover, it stipulates that any violation is punishable by imprisonment from ten (10) to twenty (20) years together with a fine.
