Abstract EN

The study deals with the obstacles of investment in the Arab stock market and clarifying the methods and ways of activating them.

The study aims mainly at highlighting the stock market and the need to promote, develop and activate them in order to attract foreign capital to preserve Arab funds and invest them in Arab countries to serve development projects in the light of financial globalization, and to be a motive to encourage savings and investment in Arab countries in a world prevailed by financial and economic blocks between different countries.

The results of the study shows that there is a significant evolution in the value of trading volume and rates of investments and its growth during this study in the examined countries which is attributed to the reform of regulations and legislations to fit to international standards in accounting and transparency, although there are many obstacles that restrain its access to developed markets as well as the coincidence of the period of the study with the recent global and financial crisis.
