This research reveals the importance of the lexical competence for the foreign learner, and the methods of reinforcement that are appropriate for them.

It also deals with linking competence with the most prominent example of contemporary Arabic dictionaries for foreigners, which is the basic Arabic dictionary, which tried to considerate the category of foreigners when developing its entries.

Through this proposal, we will treat many questions, the most prominent of which are: What is the extent to which the basic Arabic dictionary is achieved lexical adequacy that contributes to strengthening and fueling the communicative aspects of the foreign learner? Teaching this class and promoting the acquisition of this competency.
