Abstract EN

The present study necessitated to research the considerable attempts of the Algerian legislator to keep up with the universal legislations that work at avoiding the restriction on freedom of sentenced persons by introducing punishment based on public benefits as an alternative to a prison sentence, implementing policies, socially reintegrating sentenced persons without restricting their liberties and without getting them out of their society and environment.

At the same time, they fulfill a work that would help them reform themselves and stay away from criminals and negative effects often caused by living inside the jail.

This is from one hand, from the other hand; such work would also help to reduce expenditures of the state.

What has been concluded is that the difficulties which are still facing the implementation of punishment based on public benefits in Algeria are considered ordinary just like some other experiences Algeria is facing in other fields.

The will of all, starting by a firm belief of judges of the efficiency of this kind of punishment in treating juvenile delinquency and sparing them tragedies and effects of the prison.

The society must be aware of the importance of its contribution throughout its establishments.

These are the main pillars without neglecting other factors such as trainings and providing the necessary instruments of supervision.
