The Independent Supreme Commission for Electoral Observation in Algeria came as a result of strong criticism from civil society organizations on the conduct of the electoral process, so the constitutional legislator took responsibility for monitoring all the upcoming election entitlements and to identify all the excesses that may occur in order to reach funds that express the votes of the voters.

The Commission supervises the electoral process in accordance with Organic Law 16-11, which stipulates its supervision over the electoral process since the issuance of the decree calling on the electorate to declare the election results provisional.
