Abstract EN

The study attempts to shed light on the process, and history of ruling family in Saudi Arabia to understand, from a socio-political perspective, its transformations and the fundamental role it plays, as an informal actor, in the political decision-making process.

The study analyses the political performance of this power and discloses the different hidden factors and strategies behind the appointment of the King of Saudi Arabia or the Crown Prince.

On the other hand, the study shows several complex conflicts inside this large family and their limits, as well as the struggle between wings after the Era of the founder king Ibn Saud.

Precisely, the period between the succession of his son Saud bin Abdulaziz until the King Salman's rise to power.
