The historical references, especially royal writings, and the writings of classical historians, played an important role in explaining the image of the architecture of the city of Babylon in new-Babylonian period(627-539 B.
C) under Chaldean authority, because the city suffered from the destruction and disappearance of many of its architectural features, especially below the groundwater level.
