The novel usually seeks getting itself free with no strings attached from being modest or vintage and coming out to be new, and with that came the appearance of « metafection » which is a brand new branch that makes the writing an important matter inside the story, and in fact by looking at the algerian novelists we will find out that they managed to use it properly in their work, Waciny Laredj is an example of that, in which we chose his novel « Water Memory » as it represents the use of metafection perfectly even though it was written in a time of disasterous political events in Algeria as he narrates the problems of every intellectual Algerian during those years
