Tahar ouettar's ALZILZEL is among the early novels in the Algerian creative arena of Arabic expression.

Its publication in fact, coincided whith a number of changers that affected the Algerian society socially, economically, or politically.

hence, it is no surprise that he adopts a realist approach that emphasizes the juxtaposition of creativity withe reality, significantly, s this novel has received a rich share of readibility, whether from a contextual or stylistic angle.

This study, than, endeavors to shed light on the most distinguished critical readings that ALZILZEL has received so far, which are related to the title, woman's voice or the manifestations of feudalism in the novel Intrestingly, the present study seeks to answers the following questions: to what extent were the recipients successful in decoding the novel's title? And how did they perceive the portrayal of woman in this narrative text? Finally what is the thing that caught their attention when they were bumped into feudalism?
