The economy of coastal countries is heavily based on multiple marines activities.

fishing is considered as a basic pillar of the economy development due to the high value of the fauna.

Algeria has been focusing on emphasasing the importance of this activity through creating a legal framework that's characterized by the abundance of laws and regulatory texts regulating fishing activity; in order to achieve the objectives of the underlined national plan in this vital sector.

international community also, represented by international organizations or regional blocs, has recently turned its attention towards holding conferences in order to urge the countries concerned to have a good management of biological resources with a view to preserve them and to ensure the sustainable exploitation according to the so called blue economy.
