I knew the media environment in Algeria since independence timeline of events and regulatory laws, Mix between authoritarian and liberal character, which have influenced the media landscape in all its historical and legal stages.

In view of the prominent role played by the legal system in the organization of media work, the Algerian legislator has been organizing the media landscape with the promulgation of Law 12-05, which has brought about fundamental changes in the media sectors, such as the establishment of the Authority for the control of written press, as well as subject to the licensing system when issuing newspapers, The same law also serves as a birth certificate for openness in the audiovisual sector, for the first time in the history of independent Algeria, the legislature will issue the audiovisual law 14-04, which has made a distinctive public transfer in the sector.

T hus, this scientific article seeks to describe and analyze the reality of media practice in the field of journalism written through the 2012 law and the audiovisual field through the law of 2014.
