Mohamed Dib is one of the authors of the Algerian literature writen in french and he considered this literature and circumstantial period in the history of Algeria considering that French language as the exile of war booty and this creativity was distinguished by a critical trend, and the novel of The African Summer" Malek Hadad which was issued in 1959 was one of the novels filming the facts of the armed revolutionThis novel reflect's the daily life and coexhistence of the Algerians during the liberating revolution.

Mohamed Dib concontrated on a very sensitive group called « the militants.

» The major aim of this novel is to thank, praise and encourage and recognize the silent efforts and tiredness of those Militants Who used to occupy an important posts and levels, They were like an artery that supplies victual for revolutionaries.
