Abstract EN

This paper seeks to highlight urban growth in the Arab world, which has become a source of interest among many quarters, because of its reality, social and economic issues and the results it produces and produces that affect various aspects of life.

In order to achieve the objective of this research, we have relied on analysing the level of urban growth, its factors and characteristics, highlighting its stages, trends and patterns, as well as identifying its dynamics and urbanization movement in the Arab world.

One of the findings of this research is that the level of urbanization in the Arab world has become one of the highest observed and at an accelerated pace, acceleration remains the dominant core characteristic, population growth is an important factor in the increasing rate of urbanization, as well as the emergence of mega-cities and the expansion of urban areas.

Increasingly and rapidly, with the emergence of the phenomenon of major cities and the swell population of capital capitals, the growth of cities will be the biggest factor affecting development in subsequent years.
