The aim of this study is to investigate the roots and beginnings of the global financial crisis, its impact on the Saudi capital market in particular, and to review the mechanis ms to address them.

The study was based on a descriptive and analytical approach in this study.

The Tadawul index considered three sectors in the Saudi stock market: banks, financial services, construction, construction and industrial investment.

The choice of these sectors lies in the strong linkages of the oil-related industries and their importance to the Saudi economy compared to other sectors, leading to a useful study for investors and policy makers to understand well the behavior of stock markets in the case of global financial crises and considering oil price shocks.
