Abstract EN

Banking institutions play an important role in mobilizing and directing savings to finance the operational and investment activities of the business sectors to contribute to the improvement of economic performance indicators at the macro and micro levels.

Due to the complexity of decision-making processes in banking institutions and the face of their management for many and conflicting goals, this study was completed to contribute to support of decision makers in banking institutions, especially in the field of granting bank credit by offering a practical application using the goal programming model provides better opportunities to determine the mix of financing products that achieve the greatest return possible and the lowest level of risk.

The study reached the possibility of using this model in the Iraqi Islamic Bank and taking into account the reality of the changing business environment that surrounds its activities in a practical and flexible way to formulate appropriate credit strategies and policies and enhance its competitiveness.
