This trend is represented by Ahl al-Sunnah wa al-Jamaa'ah, while the Mu'tazilah took a different approach, making the mind the ruler of the text.

Hence, the text was interpreted to be compatible with logic and reason, and between these two directions was the understanding of the religious text between standing on the face and its interpretation of old and recent.
