Abstract EN

The study involved determining the concentration 17 congeners from PCDD/Fs (7 dioxin and 10 furans) in 51 samples of plumbers workers in welding of plastic pipes.

Classified into two groups depending on the period of exposure.

The first group includes 27 persons; the exposure period mean was 5.1 ± 0.7 years.

The mean age was 30.3 ± 3.5 years.

The second group includes 24 persons; the exposure period mean was 7.1 ± 0.5 years.

The mean age was 37.6 ± 2.8 years.

A PCDD/Fs showed significant high (P≤0.05) in when comparing the two groups.

The results were compared with the results of a review study too.

Dioxins also showed a clear effect on kidney function measured by levels of serum creatinine and uric acid, which was found to be a significant difference (P≤0.05) between both groups.
