The oud players in Iraq have consistently composed musical pieces that are spread and taught in musical institutes and educational institutions, but their musical characteristics are not clear in their composition.

This research highlights the characteristics of some of the pieces of the oud instrument within the literature of Iraqi musicians.

The research deals with special topics in those pieces, and the research traces the musical development in Iraq in the city of Baghdad in particular and the establishment of the music institute in which the first music school for an oriental instrument like the oud instrument was born.

Where artists specializing in playing this instrument graduated.

This study looks for those characteristics and addresses this issue, by revealing the musical characteristics of the Iraqi musical instrument's pieces
