Citizenship is one of the concepts that have gained wide interest by the researchers and writers in the fields of educational, psychological andsocial sciences, this research aimed to identify the concept of citizenship and its importance in the life of modern man, and to identify the principles of education for citizenship in the light of Islamic education literature, as well as the development of a proposed educational formula to upgrade the principles of education for citizenship from an Islamic perspective.

The researcher used the fundamentalist method and the descriptive method, the research included two main axes: the concept of citizenship and its importance and its status from an Islamic perspective and the principles of education for citizenship as it appears in the Islamic educational literature also the development of a proposed formula to upgrade the principles of education for citizenship from an Islamic educational perspective
