Abstract EN

The study aimed at discussing foundations of the governance of knowledge management processes in universities, clarifying the most prominent components, and providing a proposed model for the governance of knowledge management processes in Egyptian universities using the descriptive research method.

Despite the importance of knowledge management processes in Egyptian universities, they face many obstacles that limit their effectiveness and ability to achieve their goals revolving around investing, developing, creating and sharing knowledge, which requires controlling these processes to ensure the ability to achieve their goals.

Institutional governance is a contemporary management approach that can be used to achieve the governance of knowledge management processes in Egyptian universities through several dimensions that may contribute to achieving this; perhaps the most important of which are: transparency and disclosure, accountability, effective participation, good financial management, justice and equality, adherence to the law, empowerment, and Institutional effectiveness.

All these dimensions are closely related to knowledge and its management processes at universities.

The proposed model included several aspects related to the basic assumptions from which the proposed model is based, the governance structures through which the governance of knowledge management processes in universities is achieved, the stages and procedures for the governance of knowledge management processes, and the requirements for the success of the proposed model.
