Abstract EN

This study aims to find alternatives to the traditional mechanisms of foreign reserves management in the light of the principles of the Islamic economy through the creation of an integrated Islamic approach to develop the management of financial surpluses by proposing tools and techniques to manage foreign reserves that combine economic efficiency and legitimate credibility.

The results showed that the management of foreign reserves in the Islamic economy seeks to rationalize the uses of foreign exchange reserves by optimizing their use by looking for non-traditional alternatives to finance the deficit in the state budget instead of withdrawing reserves or borrowing from the domestic market or international markets.

The optimal use of foreign reserves in the Islamic economy is to look for non-traditional alternatives to financing development, namely the participation of Islamic banks in financing economic and social development in accordance with the Islamic financing formats, and financing development projects using Islamic products, namely: Musharaka and Mudaraba Sukuk, Ijara Sukuk al-salam, Waqf and Bot instruments.
