Abstract EN

This paper consists of an introduction,six principles and a conclusaion.The introduction deals with the rationale and importaance of tahe research as well as disaplaying its components and approach.The main part begins with the descent of Ikrimah,his family dignity and his date of birth.

The paper discusses Ikrimah’s attitude towards Islam before the Battles of Badr,Uhod and Al-Khandaq.It illustrates his bitter hostility towards prophet Muhammad(Peace Be Upon Him)and his companions(May Allah Bless them all).The paper also sheds light on the events of Al-Hudaibiyah Pact and its breach by Quraish,the conquest of Makkah and Ikrimah’s runaway to Yemen and his return when his wife obtained an amnesty for him from the Prophet(PBUH) The paper displays the change in the course of Ikrimah’s life after embracing Islam and the prophet’s welcome to this move.The paper surveys the brave deeds of Ikrimah including his role as a ruler of Hawazin,and as a military leader in the war against those who defected from Islam after the Prophet’s death.It shows Ikrimah’s long jourey to sana’a through Oman and Al-Shihr and his role in freeing the ruler of Hadramoat after been held a hostage by Kindah tribesmen.

The last principle this paper displays is the Jihad of Ikrimah against the Romans.This part includes the last battle in which Ikrimah gained the Shahadah(martyrdom)and the date of death.The paper concludes with a number of inductive findings.
