The Hebrew religious poetry during the medieval age was a way for Jewish poets to express their religious feelings, and their various rituals in public and private occasions.
Babylon was one of the first regions that Jews settled in Iraq, and their number increased there after the ruin of Jerusalem era in 586 BC.
The Babylonian king, Nebuchadnezzar, who had captured many Jews to Babylon by where they settled in this city, and had their own social and religious life in.
In light of this religious tolerance the Jewish poet "Youssef Al-Bardani" appeared in the tenth century AD, and he organized many religious poems that chanted in the synagogues at the time with in "Kriyat Shema".
