Abstract EN

This research is an attempt to find out Wheat Farmers Awareness of Adaptations Practices for Facing Climate Change.

The study aimed to: (1) Identify same characteristics of the studied farmers.

(2) Determine the effects of climate change on the wheat crop from the respondents' point of view.

(3) Determine the degree of farmers' awareness of adaptations practices to control climate change on the wheat crop.

(4) Identifying sources of agricultural information to confront climate change among the studied farmers.

(5) Identifying recommendations to increase wheat farmers' awareness of adaptations practices to control climate change.

The sample was restricted to 82 farmers.

The interview questionnaire was used to collect data.

The following is a presentation of the most prominent research results: The results show that the respondents felt the climate changes and their impact on wheat from a difference in planting dates and their impact on production, increased insect infestation, increased water needs, and the need to change varieties every period, and increase the chance of weed infestation.

New methods of agriculture that reduces the effects of climate change was needed.

Based on the results, the research recommends the following: (1) The necessity for farmers to adhere to the variety policy announced by the Agricultural Research Center - Field Crops Research Institute - Wheat Research Department.

They are as follows (Giza 168 - Giza 171 - Egypt 1 - Egypt 2 - Gemmayzeh 9 - Gemmayzeh 12 - Sakha 94 - Six 14) which are renewed annually according to climate changes.

(2) Dissemination of agricultural guidance for the declared variety policy among wheat growers.

(3) The necessity of issuing advisory bulletins on climate change and how to confront them in light of the conditions available to farmers.

Conducting extension campaigns to educate farmers about the effects of climate change on wheat and how to face it.

(4) Providing agricultural extension workers with sufficient knowledge about new varieties, their treatments, and new agricultural practices to face climate changes
