Abstract EN

The research aims to know the effectiveness of the strategy of the listening teams in the collection of the history material of Europe and modern and contemporary America for students of the fifth grade literary.

In order to achieve this, the researcher chose a experimental design with partial control of two groups, one experimental and the other one with pre-test and post-test.

The researcher randomly selected a sample of fifth grade students from the preparatory school of Hussein Hussein Aziz for boys belonging to the district administration in Dhi Qar governorate.

The sample consisted of 58 students (29) students in the experimental group whose students study the strategy of the listening groups and (29) students from the control group, which students study according to the usual method.

The researcher was rewarded between the two research groups in a number of variables (the age of the students calculated by months, the previous degrees of achievement in history, and the pre-test of historical thinking skills).

The researcher identified the scientific material which included chapters (1, 2, 3, 4) of the European history book for the fifth grade.

The researcher formulated the behavioural goals based on the levels of knowledge, understanding and application of the knowledge field of the Bloom classification.

The results showed that: The experimental group, which studied according to the strategy of listening groups, surpassed the control group, which was studied in the usual way in the test of the collection of the history material of Europe and modern and contemporary America for fifth graders.

In the light of the results of the research, the researcher recommended using the strategy of the listening groups in the teaching of history, and the researcher came out with the recommendations of the use of the strategy of listening groups in line with the modern educational strategies that emphasize the participation of students active in the process of learning and education, And the faculties of basic education and the faculties of education, the foundations and strategic steps of the listening teams, and proposed several proposals, including a similar study on other subjects and for other classes in the intermediate stage.
