Abstract EN

The research aims to know the effect of an educational program to develop the skill of the students of art education department.

The researcher has adopted an experimental design of two equal groups control and experimental groups which have pre-post cognitive test and post-skill test for each skill.

The population of the study includes the third-grade students of the art education department of the collage of basic education/ Al-Mustansiriya university.

The population includes 60 male and female students divided into 30 of the experimental group and 30 of the control one.

The groups were equalized statistically on the IQ test, age of the students counted by months, and the pervious knowledge.

In skill test of the art of decoupage of the pervious experience which consists of (skill of decoupage on wax, glass, and wood) were also equalized.

After the equalizing process, the results show no significant differences in the all variables.

The researcher prepared the scientific material, which consisted of (4) educational units in the subjects (art of decoupage and its definition - tools and materials and materials used, and art of decoupage on wax, and art of decoupage on glass, art of decoupage on wood), where the students of the experimental group studied the material in accordance with the educational program prepared according to the steps of the synthesis model prepared by the researcher, reinforced with data show technique to display technical pictures and illustrations related to these topics, while the students of the control group studied the same material in the prescribed way The researcher has formed a cognitive and skill test which are presented to experts to verify its validity.

The cognitive test consists of 32 objective items while the skill test consists of 28 for each skill (decoupage wax 8 paragraphs decoupage on glass 10 items, decoupage wood 10 vertebrae) form for observation.

The experimental and experimental control were taught for 8 weeks.

After the end of the teaching period, the researcher applied the statistical procedures.

When analyzing the results statistically, the experimental group scored higher than the control group in the cognitive and skill test.

For each skill separately, it has been shown that there is an impact of the educational program on the average of the experimental group in the cognitive achievement test and the skill performance test of the art of decoupage in the design techniques.

Therefore, the researcher recommended the possibility of benefiting from the program designed for development the technical skills of the students in the teaching of some practical skills in general, and the application of the specimen synthesis in middle and high schools, colleges and institutes of educational concerned with teaching and training learners in various disciplines of study as a specimen enrichment analyzes skills and simplifies the steps and be adopted within the academic and professional training programs
