تبين معظم نماذج الجوامع على أن رمزية العمارة مزدوج فيها.
فلها بعد أفقي دنيوي و إنساني يدخل في باب التجربة و الطقوس و يتصل أساسا بالصلاة و بالاتجاه نحو الكعبة و بوحدانية الله و بخصوصية مخلوقاته الحية.
ولها بعد ثاني عمودي متصل بالعالم الغيبي الإلهي و تظهر عليه علامات العظمة و التعالي و القوة.
وقد استعملت لذلك عناصر و علامات أعطت فضاءات ذات دلالات رمزية و اضحة.
أما في ما يخص عمارة الإباضية بجزيرة جربة فإنها بينت قدسية الطقوس كالصلاة و المعرفة باعتبارهما أساس الدين وبقيت في مستوى أفقي دنيوي إنساني.
وقد تميزت هذه العمارة بتذكيرها بالمبدأ الأصلي للأشياء كاتخاذها الكعبة مثالا يقتدى به في بيوت الله من جهة و بإبقائها على طابع الزهد و البساطة و الانفتاح على الآخر و السلمية الظاهرة من خلال المبنى عبر اللون و الحجم و الأشكال الواضحة من جهة أخرى
Abstract EN
Most mosque models show that the symbolism of architecture is doubled in them.
They have a horizontal, worldly and human dimension connected to events and rituals, and it's related mainly to prayer, the direction towards the Kaaba, the oneness of God and the specificity of creatures.
They also have a second vertical dimension connected to the unseen divine world, and it shows signs of greatness, transcendence and strength.
For that, elements and signs were used to give spaces with clear symbolic connotations.
As for the Ibadi architecture on the island of Djerba, it demonstrated the sanctity of rituals, such as prayer and knowledge, as they are the basis of religion and remained at a horizontal, worldly, human level.
