The region of Setif occupies a special place in the regions of eastern Algeria, because of its role played at various times.

During the Ottoman period, the role of the city was reduced and the surrounding area replaced it.

The region occupies a privileged position by the Turks because of its geographical location and its economic status and therefore has the Turks have installed caids and sheiks in the region as representatives of the Turkish authority.

In this article, we will try to shed light on the Ottoman presence in the region of Setif, while trying to clarify the role of influential families in the consolidation of Ottoman authority in the region by extrapolating fragments scattered in a number from sources.
