This article seeks to analyze one of the most important files in Mediterranean relations, with special focus on the western Mediterranean, which is the illegal immigration.

Starting with outlining the scale of this worsening phenomenon, its dynamic in the region.

Then, we try to deal with the strategic frameworks, European in nature, and centered on the southern side, all that as cooperative projects in countering immigration, ending up with some results from the place and the role of Arab Maghreb states in anti-illegal immigration under these plans and challenges imposed upon them.

To sum up, the focus is on hard policies embraced by the EU to limit the worsening of the phenomenon, in addition to Arab Maghreb states import of the same measures, with focus on its drawbacks, since they don't achieve its goals, knowing that immigrants are still flowing into EU (seeking the promised paradise).
