This paper aims to expose the study of social networking sites and their role in the popular movement in Algeria, as the popular movement that Algeria has witnessed since February 22, 2019 demonstrated the importance of social networking sites, as it has become an effective way to cover events and promote freedom, democracy and political change, and has attracted the attention of a large number of citizens It also provided the opportunity to transmit news and contribute to uncovering the truth to create political awareness, and on this basis the study seeks to shed light on the reasons and motives of the university student's use of social media sites and the level of his knowledge and his follow-up of events and political issues that Presented by Facebook on the popular movement in Algeria, using the descriptive method and by using the questionnaire as a tool to collect information and data, as it was distributed to a sample of students represented in 50 university students.
