Abstract EN

We may agree or disagree on the role of religious angles in the French colonial period of Algeria (1830-1962), but there is no doubt that resistance to the French occupation at its beginning and the revolution in 1954 had an important and pivotal role for this social component.

We are not here to highlight the magnitude of the sacrifices made by the corners, roads and religious schools attached to them through their elders and their leaders in the stage of popular resistance, or what some of them have contributed to preserving On the specificity of Algerian society from alienation, as it was a pickle in which the liberation revolution found the support and the appointed in strengthening its ranks with loyal men.
