Abstract EN

The current study embarked on the type of urban life in Jeddah's districts, and the level of satisfaction of the sample towards it within the framework of their neighborhoods.

The study was based on the social survey methodology, the field data was collected using a questionnaire, which included four indicators to measure the quality of urban life in the districts of Jeddah: Housing quality indicator, environmental aspects indicator, services and utilities indicator, sense of safety indicator.

The field study was applied to a random sample of 1510 Saudi families living in 41 neighborhoods in Jeddah.

The study aimed at identifying the satisfaction of the sample of the study on the quality of urban life in its residential, environmental and social domains, quality of services and public facilities and feeling safe within the residential areas of the city, and the effect of age, educational, social and economic variables in determining the level of satisfaction among respondents.

The study also aimed to reveal the role of the location, the type and the type pf ownership of the housing site in determining the level of satisfaction among the sample members, in addition to knowing their future intentions to move from their current housing.
