of alternative and renewable energy has become the concern of many countries of the world since the last quarter of the twentieth century, especially with the running out of the fossil fuels and the high prices of oil derivatives as well as the succession of energy crises.

This study aims to make use of all types of organic waste to produce different types of bioenergy.

The study discussed the definition of the concept of biomass, the energy production techniques from it, the different sources of biomass in Damietta Governorate, and the different motives for producing energy from it, With reference to the economics of energy production from biomass, then the future of bioenergy in both the governorate and the republic.

Finally, the study concluded with the most important findings and recommendations.
