Abstract EN

This study reviews libraries respond to Covid-19 pandemic that hit the world in December 2019.

The study adopted the analytical descriptive approach.

Results reveal the effective roles of libraries in facing covid-19 pandemic through its experts who-by focusing on pattern of electronic services on the internet- put together their professional experiences and creative ideas to produce effective strategies to fight this pandemic.

Experts then contributed in enriching people health awareness through providing and establishing resources of updated and reliable information concerning Covid-19, as well as they contributed in producing health protection tools in fighting Covid-19 pandemic.

The study reflects three possible scenarios of activating libraries during the pandemic outbreak; the first scenario is to activate libraries during the lockdown with providing far-distance services, the second scenario is to activate libraries during partial lockdown which requires a set of precautious procedure, the third scenario is a complete activation of libraries.

It's also expected that libraries will be affected with Covid-19 pandemic as the use of electronic resources will speed up, also new policies are expected to rise as working from home policies and libraries policies in dealing with crises and pandemics.

The study recommends that support should be provided for Arab libraries in order to be ready to provide services for its society during the outbreak of pandemics and epidemics.
