Abstract EN

Environmental policy is considered as a part of the state's general policy.

Its aim is to protect the environment from all forms of degradation.

Since environmental protection is an indicator of sustainable development, the goal of this research paper is to shed light on the nature of environmental policy, its goals as well as the most important external and internal determinants that define the parameters for drawing this policy on the national level.

The study concluded, however, that Algeria does not reserve any effort to participate internationally and nationally in all initiatives and commitments that would contribute in implementing the concept of sustainable development in a manner that guarantees the preservation of the rights and gains of current as well as future generations.
