Language is one of the most important components of identity, which makes it a very sensitive issue.

The linguistic coexistence between Taznatit, the language of the Amazigh of Gurara, and Arabic is considered as a model worthy of research.

The article deals with the coexistence between these two languages since the arrival of the first Arab tribes in the region during the twelfth century AD until present days.

The study concluded that the coexistence between Taznatit and Arabic has existed and that the Amazigh and the Arabic-speakers have lived in harmony for centuries, neither of them has felt exclusion, marginalization or discrimination.

The achievements realized both locally and nationally have provided legal frameworks and official institutions to preserve and promote Tamazight.

Consequently, academics, linguists and researchers are now in front of new challenges to continue the process through scientific research to keep pace with the achievements at the political level.
